Welcome to FERDA Hockey Co., where the love for hockey runs deep and family is at the heart of our story. Founded by Shane Nakamura and his son Jace Nakamura, our journey is a tale of passion, dedication, and the unyielding belief that hockey is more than just a game—it's a lifestyle!

Shane Nakamura, a devoted father of eight, discovered his love for hockey at the age of 12 while watching the LA Kings in action on television. That pivotal moment ignited a flame that led him to craft his own makeshift hockey stick from random pieces of wood and scraps in his garage. Shane didn't stop there; he joined forces with neighborhood kids to create a youth hockey league that eventually evolved into the Tri-City InLine Hockey League in Oceanside, CA.

After graduating college at The Art Center, Shane returned to the sport that had captured his heart, this time not only as a player but also as a coach and director of the very league he grew up in. It was a chance for him to give back to the community that had nurtured his love for the game and to share the magic of hockey with his own children and other families.

Jace Nakamura, growing up playing roller hockey in Southern California, transitioned to playng ice hockey as a squirt. Fueled by his passion for the sport, Jace conceived the idea for FERDA Hockey Co. and even designed our logo. In the beginning, FERDA Hockey Co. was a fun side project—created for the fun of it, without a concrete plan for the brand's future.

However, as fate would have it, towards the end of 2022, Shane found himself facing a career change when he lost his job in the game industry. Instead of seeing this as a setback, Shane and Jace seized the opportunity to transform FERDA Hockey Co. from a fun concept into a tangible and thriving brand. Their shared commitment to the sport and the belief that hockey deserves a brand as remarkable as its athletes became the driving force behind this new venture.
